Stirrings and Openings

Stirrings of spring, and the return of the lovely colors, are helping me recover my intention and determination to start creating again.

I find myself feeling very emotional, my eyes tearing up for no apparent reason, just because the daffodils are almost done and the tulips are in mid-season.

The trees have their baby leaf sprouts on, soon they will be full sized green leaves casting cool shadows on the lawn in the mid-day heat of summer.

And the birdhouses will have their inhabitants soon, flying and chirping with their newest members, creating the next generation. I saw a robin in the grass, but he was camera-shy, and flitted away before I could get his portrait, a bright spot of red on his chest showing against the green sprouting grass.

The redbuds are in full bloom, almost past their full blossom time, their delicate flowers the bright spots in the neighborhood against the barely greening lawns.

There's no bright sun yet on the sundial on the deck.

And the zinnias are waiting to be planted in the mossy stone planter to add their bright summertime colors.

The trees are still mostly bare branches against the sky.

Blessings of the season, for Easter and Passover, to springtime celebrants all, as the sun passes overhead and the seasons change I wish you all happiness and the glories of the flowers on the ornamental pear trees, as a promise of warmer weather and longer days ahead.

The one pink petaled flower among the white, standing out against the dark branches, as brief as a prayer and just as precious, like little bonneted babies in their Easter dresses.

I LOVE tulips. They died at this house -- I guess the weather has been too screwy -- but at my old house, we planted 700 bulbs (I kid you not) so we were surrounded and it was glorious!

Happy Easter Lynn, I am glad you are feeling better! I think you are ahead of us with spring. Your spring pictures are so cool, I do so love tulips. It was cool, cloudy and rained all day here, we do need the rain but not so cheery.

I love tulips and daffodils, partly because they are so transient ... here briefly showing their bright spring selves, then gone.

Thank you my friends, Happy Easter and Passover to ALL!
