Sneak A Secret Peek

Right now I'm working on seven pieces for a publication project, and it's sort of a secret. But I simply can't resist giving a tiny sneak peek at the pieces.

I have to finish them out as jewelry and get them ready to go to the photographer. It'll be a week or two yet until they go out.

In the meantime, I've been doing my wear-testing on them. It's the least I can do, right? And I'm loving wearing them even thought they're not finished yet. I need to come up with special dangles for the bottoms as decoration. And I want to make some handmade chain to attach to the tops.

I have to admit that I really (REALLY) like the way these turned out. I worked on them all weekend.

I wanted to make something that looks like estate jewelry, like someone found an old jewelry box full of long-lost family antiques. Some of them have words inside. To help create or tell a story. Things like "GOOD SOUL" and "TRUE STORY" and "SWEET BABY".

Some of them are pendants, and some are pin-back brooches. And a couple are multi-function and can be worn either way. I'd give you a closer look and details about each one, but this is a secret sneak peek, remember?

You'll have to wait until the publication comes out for more about them. And by then, you'll have forgotten all about this secret sneak peek post and it'll be a surprise all over again!

I'll have to part with them myself, posting them off and not seeing them for a long while. Sigh.

But won't it be wonderful when they all come back again after they've had their pictures taken?

I can't stand the suspense. When do we get to see the publication? The amber colour in these pieces is absolutely the best of all. Love them.

Shhh... I'll let you in on a little more info - the publication date (proposed) is next spring! Yes I know, it seems a lifetime away. But publishers have to work ahead to get everything put together.

Thanks about the amber color, I LOVE-LOVE-LOVE amber (the real thing) and wanted so badly to make something like it. It sounds like I did, Wahoo!

The faux amber was a happy accident, don't you love when that happens?? At first I wasn't sure I liked the results, but it sort of grew on me.
