Jar of Sweets

Do you remember a while back, I did a giveaway of a container with folded wings, and the words '"SWEET DREAMER" on the outside?

I've been wanting to make another one for some time, and it took me several days.

I made the shape and the texture. And the banner with the little word in it.

The decisions about the colors were a bit hard. To get a lightness in the green, but still have it look aged and have the designs show.

It has an ornate oval lid, it doesn't open. It's closed, to keep the sweetness inside.

But it does have holes on the narrow ends of the oval, for a wire or other hanger to go through.

To make it wearable. Or it could hang from a rear view mirror.

What does it mean? Whatever you like to think. Maybe a reminder to "BE SWEET" like my grandmother used to say. To remind me when I was a child to behave.

Or maybe to remember the sweet things in life.

Or to say that someone has a sweet nature. Or possibly a sweet tooth, loving candies.

Whatever it means for you, it tells your story. I really like how it turned out. It's hollow, so very lightweight. I applied all the colors carefully, and buffed and shined it to a beautiful sheen.

It looks like a very vintage old container. With sweet colors on the outside, and rainbows on the inside, hidden away.

The studio girl dog had her beauty spa treatment and she looks great! All the shaggy undercoat gone, her nails trimmed, she looks beautiful.

She gives me these looks that let me know she wasn't thrilled with all the washing and trimming. But she will forgive and forget really soon, I know!

And guess what! It's raining here again, and thundering. I guess I'll unplug everything. Nervous of the weather, now.

I talked to the insurance folks about the strike, we'll be wading through paperwork for some time now. Oh well, life in the modern world.
