Black Friday Giveaway Celebrate Around and Round

I decided I'd do a celebration of the publishing event, the anniversary of the blog and just a general fun time for all of you to celebrate with me.

I made these components in pewter last weekend. They're very different styles, almost like different periods in time.

They look to me like they might have been relics from long-gone furniture hardware, or something from the stable off an old horse-drawn carriage. Fanciful thinking, I know!

One is a dark four-way connector, the other two are unbroken circle shapes.

One is a braided rope, in a copper-bronze tone.

The other is a simple round textured shape, thin and delicate but sturdy and light. All three were hand-cast by me in pewter and finished, I have the ruined manicure to prove it...

If you'd like a chance to win one of these three styles, leave a comment on this post and tell me - how would you use them?

Do you like one better than another - which one(s) are your favorites.

Do you like the bright pewter, the darkened patina or the copper-brazen look best? Or all three, for different reasons?

Would you make a necklace, a bracelet - or maybe earrings - what kind of design ideas do you get from them?

Would you combine them with other beads, how do you picture them? The sky is the limit!

Three replies will be chosen, each chosen reply will win one of these connectors! I'll announce the winning comments on the Friday after the Thanksgiving holiday - Black Friday Giveaway.

Hi, Lynn! I've been following your blog & love your work.

I do wire crochet so I would probably use them as a pendant matching the color of wire I use to the pendant and crocheting in beads, of course! My favorite is the 4 way connector! I just like shape and detail of it. As far as the color, that's hard to say. I like them all! I like anything with a vintage look.

Thanks for the chance to win one of these! Happy Thanksgiving!

I love all three of them for their own reasons - they are each beautiful in their own way!

I would see them as a focal on a necklace - maybe with some danglies on them? Something to tie the whole piece together...

I love them all. I love each patina. I love each shape. It would be hard to choose. I think the four way connector would be a great focal. I would make a really chunky short necklace with that with fibers and beads coming off each opening. Or that braided one would make a wonderful lariat opening. I would have a host of beads and objects spilling through that, maybe even a key.
And that little round one. That would be on a long necklace. And from that center piece I would extend all sorts of the flotsam and jetsam of life. A living talisman to carry with you to protect you.
You are amazing, Miss Lynn! Thanks for sharing!
Enjoy the day!

They are all beautiful, but I think my fav is the darkened patina one. I would use it in a necklace.
You have such talent and I really enjoy your blog! Thanks.

Hi Lynn,

What a great giveaway! I'd love to win any of them, but I especially like the braided circle as a focal for a simple strand of smoky-topaz colored czech beads. And the 4-leaf piece would be great as a component on a lariat-type necklace.

Yea, you can put my name in the pot -- I'd love to win any one of these beauties.

I really like the 4 part component. I would use it in a bracelet & probably add a dangle or 2.

They are all awesome! I think I like the 4 part one with the dark patina. I see fall colored beads ( orange, dark green, gold, deep red) with a mixture of chains. Thank you for the chance.

I like the four way connector best, but I do like them all. I like the finish of the 4way connector as well. I would use it in a necklace with some pearls and chain. I get an elegant and feminine feel from it.
Thanks for the opportunity, love your work!

I would bead around the twisted rope or the four holed connecter & use it as a centerpiece of either a bracelet or a necklace. They would even be used as a centerpiece on a spiral rope. I like each piece so it would be hard to choose,
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving holdiay of happiness and great day of rest,
Sharon

i really love them all... but that 4 holed one leaves one with so many design options! i would probably have it go up the side of a necklace... and sorry, cannot pick a finish - they would all be great in different ways...
happy thanksgiving!

They are all beautiful! i would do wire wrapped beads hanging from it, with the circle being attached to chain. Or i'm mulling an idea where the round component has a large flat disk hanging from it with some type of wire wrapping. both necklaces

Hi Lynn,

Yes I think all three are beautiful in their own right, and I certainly could not pick one finish over the other. I love the variety of patina you acheive, it's fantastic. I think my fav would be the the 4 way connector which for some reason today had me thinking of highway ramps and how they create cloverleaves when viewed overhead. Maybe it's that suggestion of travel and age in your peices.... Of course I have no idea what I would do with it, but that doesn't mean I don't need it :)

Yikes I almost let a chance to win one of your awesome giveaways slip by. :(

After seeing all the amzing pieces you have created incorporating resin I have started slowly to expirment with resin. Mind you mine have no resemblance to your incredible fauxtiques, but perhaps with practice.... So I think the clover shape and the aged circular piece would make wonderful "frames" for a couple of resin pieces.

Thanks, friends, for the ideas and feedback. Sometimes it's good for me to ask about the things I'm making, just to see if I'm on track! Just because I like a charm or clasp may not mean everyone else does, LOL - so it's fun to open it up for conversation and inspiration.

CHEERS! and hope everyone is having a lovely weather week, where ever you are...
