Amazing Star, Amazing Moon

Winter has definitely arrived. Last week I got a call from my daughter, it was snowing in Louisiana. It was funny because it wasn't cold enough to snow here in Saint Louis yet, that seemed odd.

This morning the wind is blowing and the temperature is low, the studio is feeling a definite chill! May be time to get the space heater and the heating pad out for my feet.

I made the "AMAZING" resin bead and wanted to try drilling from side to side with my dremel, without a drill press. I did it without any problems.

You can see how the hole goes through, makes the resin cabochon into a kind of bead that can be strung.

Next time I will try a smaller drill bit, for this one I made some twisted non-tarnishing brass wire to make the loops, and it is quite a bit thicker than regular sterling or brass wire in a single strand gauge.

These two drops seem to go with the word bead, they say "MOON" and "STAR" - celestial word beads.

I think the side-to-side hole would work for the filigree design that Andrew Thornton made, I haven't tried it myself yet. I should do that! Filigree flies under my radar sometimes. I have some, I just never seem to reach for it.

Well, I better bundle up and wear a warm sweater today. Maybe there's a fire in the fireplace in my future tonight - and I can find the time to decorate the holiday tree!

Sweet, sweet, sweet! I love seeing your new creations but often don't have the time to comment. My goal for next year is to purchase some of your resin charms.

As clumsy as I've been lately, especially with my hands, it seems crazy to get so close with a power tool to drill those holes, but so far so good!

Thanks for the kind words. Andrew, got an urge for more resin words? LOL - I love what you do with them!
