Cough Cough, Bling

Well, everyone at the day job has had an upper respiratory infection, I hoped that since I got a flu shot this year (my first ever) that I'd take a pass.

But no.

I have a cough. Thankfully the daytime and nighttime medicines are doing their thing.

But here are some pretty shiny little things I made last weekend.

I'm having fun making faux crown jewels.

I guess they could be for anytime, not just holidays and special occasions.

I've seen this sign around, it says "It's Good to be Queen" - and wearing these makes me feel like queen for a day.

Even with a cough.

The sparlies work really well with the aged pewter. Nice contrast. Get well soon.

Those treasures were definitely unearthed in a French catacombs someplace, weren't they? I love them! Great sparkles and the pewter is such a great anchor for them. Wonderful.
Enjoy the day!

Lynn,

These are really looking like ancient Roman or Byzantine pieces of jewelry. While stumbling around on ebay one day I found this dealer. He's auctioning medieval-Roman era parts and pieces of everyday (metal)life, they have been digging up in the old Soviet blocked countries. I thought of you when I saw it, because your pewter is looking as good as the real antiquities!! :) Here's his site check it out if you like perhaps you can gleam a bit to translate to your work:

I hope your cough doesn't develop any further. And for your cough try a nice warm sniffer of brandy with a bit of honey and lemon!! Works like a charm!!

I had an URI and I had to have two rounds of antibiotics. Get to the Dr. asap for the meds. Hope you get well soon!

On another note, I just love all of your work! I wish I could buy them all.

Thank you, I must have been meant to be an archaeologist or a forger - or both!
