Leaf and Twig

I was very lucky with this pewter leaf - I got lots of good details and veins showing.

I'm thinking of turning this design into a natural looking toggle. With a twig as the toggle bar.

I'll have to go hunting for some likely twigs, that look right and have some details, but aren't too large.

So that it's visibly a twig, and not just a stick. Hard to describe the difference, but I'm sure you know what I mean.

Pretty soon the autumn will be here, and the leaves from the huge pecan tree in the front yard will be dropping. I don't think the leaves change colors too much here, but I'll be watching to see if they do.

I have this little leaf charm in the Etsy shop, if you're in an autumn mood or thinking ahead to the fall season.

It's hot here, so it's hard to think of cooler weather, but I know it will come.

Oh, Lynn, these leaves are gorgeous and very naturalistic.

You will find that pecan trees are "generous" all year 'round -- always dropping something: nuts, leaves, dead branches (called self-pruning!), and in the spring the pollen fronds cover everything!

That leaf is so lifelike and the colors are really rich. I think everyone relates to leaves, no two alike, the changing seasons, say, I guess that would be like people! Glad you were lucky, but there was a lot of skill behind it! I have you in my blog list on my new blog, http://goinoffthebeadinpath.blogspot.com
