Remembrance and Reflection

Tomorrow is my day to do the post for Studio Saturday at the Art Bead Scene Blog. I was wondering what I would write about, what's new in the studio.

I found myself reflecting on things that are currently in the news, and how each of us is connected, in so many ways, to others that we may not even know personally.

So I hope you'll drop by the Art Bead Scene blog tomorrow, read the post, and add your comments and tell your thoughts and stories with mine.

It's a new year, yet in so many ways, it's a lot like years past.

I'm hoping somehow things will be better than in years gone by.
PEACE. LOVE. HOPE.

I pray for peace and not only that, but that somehow the insanity stops, and we become a more civil nation. This is not the America I grew up. I loved what the President said for us to "Strive to become the nation that our children expect."

Thank you, friends.

I think about the senseless violence in our country. The terrible flooding and destruction in Austrailia. The anniversary of the earthquake in Haiti, and the monumental epidemic of cholera striking them. It's difficult not to be discouraged sometimes, thinking "what can I do-one person makes no difference" - but I would like to choose to think that one person does make a difference, in small ways and great.
