Part 2, Not a Uni-Tasker

Here's the cover of the cookbook I got from the library.

I found it at Amazon for less than $9.00. I may have to make it a permanent part of my cookbook library.

You have one of those, don't you? Your special pile of cookbooks that you always turn to, when you want to cook something special, but can't decide what that might be on any given day.

This one is written by someone from Louisiana.
Now, in my book, that makes it extra authentic.
Especially for a cookbook with "jambalaya" on the cover.

The neat thing about the rice cooker is that it has three speeds.
Unplugged - OFF.
Cook.
Warm.
What else do you need?
Put this together with the bread machine, and the meal's practically on the table all by itself.

I am off to buy a rice cooker today. I don't know what took me so long.

Well, I for one think you'll be very pleased. Here at the homestead, we use ours several times a week just for rice. And now that I got the idea from this book that it can do stone ground oats, bulgur wheat, pasta and lots of other things, we'll probably use it every day! It's fast, it won't burn things, and it doesn't heat up the kitchen - which isn't so important in this season but in the summertime - oh, yeah!

I had no idea you could cook so many things in a rice cooker. My daughter uses hers all of the time because they eat rice nearly every day. I must check out that cook book. Maybe even add it to my stash of cook books. BTW, I like reading recipes out loud to my husband. He may not be interested in adding to the collection :-)
