I've been thinking that this pewter replica of a lock can be used just straight as a charm. The hole through the keyhole is open, so a wire wrap can go through for a dangle. Then I thought about attaching it as the closure.
With a brass wire hammered hook, you could make the lock be the closure by hooking through the top loop and wire wrapping your chain through the keyhole.
And since it's nice to have a key with the lock, I made this replica skeleton key out of pewter, with loops for hanging and attaching, for your mate with the lock.
They both have a deep bronze-like patina on them, very aged. Can you think of more fun ways to use these?

these are terrific! i love asymmetrical designs so i can see using the key with a single chain or strand going to one side and a double to the other link fashion... because of the double opening... you have give the lock endless possibilities with the double opening! thanks!

Doh! I almost bought this during my recent purchase and now that I see it again I am completely kicking myself! I love anything with locks and keys....I love the idea of a charm! I think it would make a great clasp as well with a key that has been bent in the shape of a hook!
