Two Wheels Get Around

I've had this bicycle for a good while. It's a folding bicycle, made to fold up to easily fit into a car or into an oversized suitcase.  Since the studio is several blocks away, and it's been so hot lately, I don't walk back and forth every day.
I've been taking boxes over, so I was using the car to transport them.

But last week I decided to get the bike out, air up the tires and start riding it back and forth from the house to the studio.

It kind of amuses me. To be a person who rides a bicycle back and forth around town.

But I've noticed that other folks around here use bicycles for transportation. Kind of fun, actually.

I pull it up the front steps of the studio into the front room while I'm working. Then at lunch, I ride back to the house to eat and check the internet. After lunch, back on the bike to the studio again.

The other day there was a thunderstorm, I made it back to the house just in time to avoid the downpour.

Even riding in the sprinkling rain was fun!  And I've started wearing Keds sneakers again.

I'm reverting to my childhood.

Bike riding is fun! It's such a great way to get around, so environmentally friendly. Glad that you have got a nice safe town to ride in.

That sounds like a lot of fun! I try to never completely let go of my childhood so I always remember to do the fun and silly things in life...

I had a lady here at work tell me that she knew it was me in the stall next to her in the bathroom because I was wearing my new Dr Seuss Converse - and I guess I'm the Converse girl around here - and the one who would wear pink and blue shoes with flowers and stars and polka dots on them (check the site out - they're a LOT cuter than tha description just made them sound...)...

Glad you're enjoying your "new" life!

@Katie: I had NO IDEA that there existed such whimsy as Dr. Seuss Converse!! Oh dear, and I can even get *my* daughter a pair?! My bank account, it weeps (but hooray, and thanks for the heads up)! :D

It's amusing but this summer I cleaned up and fixed one of the older bikes here in the house in the smaller town I've moved to. And I've been using that to ride around to my errands through the summer.

I forgot how much fun bike riding was!And my daughter appreciates the company when we go out together.

Good for you! Imagine how much fuel you are saving by riding your bike!

I've never been fond of riding bikes. I not a very coordinated person so I'm rather clumsy at riding, plus it makes my...ummm....'sit-upon' sore.

Jenny - I'm glad you found them and like them, too...I don't remember how I stumbled across them, but I think they are the best things ever! I got the If I Ran the Circus pair (if you couldn't already tell by my description of them...)...

I wish they had the One Fish, Two Fish ones for grown ups :o)

Keds! I just bought my daughter a pair for back to school. Love the bike and the image of you riding it.
Enjoy the day!

I thought of this earlier, here I am riding my bike wearing my shorts and Keds, and eating homemade popsicles and watermelon.

I've gone into a time warp. I think I'll start wearing my hair in pigtails. Crazy!

Jenny wants Dr Seuss shoes matching for her and the baby for their birthdays this week!

I have never been too good at bike riding, but I wish I wish! Makes me think of our time in Amtersdam last year.

I would love to be able to ride a bike o work but not in 112 degree weather (like tooday).

Emanda, You'd be surprised how cool the breeze is when you're tooling down the street on a bike! And yes, it has been HOT hasn't it?

Oh, by the way, that's the front porch of the studio in the picture with the bicycle.
